We have participated in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons National Database since 1991. This database includes over 4.5 million patient records representing just under 95 percent of all cardiac surgery centers in the U.S. It is the largest cardiothoracic surgical outcome and quality improvement program in the world. The STS Database incorporates risk adjustment to provide accurate outcomes information and allow fair comparison of results for major cardiac operations.
Our results for major cardiac operations (CABG and valve replacement) compare favorably with STS benchmarks as shown on the charts below.
*Major cardiac operations includes those benchmarked by the STS database: CABG, Valve Replacement, Valve Replacement & CABG.
Operative mortality for major cardiac operations performed by Drs. Breyer and Bradshaw compares very favorably to STS benchmark results.
The incidence of major complications* or mortality for isolated CABG performed by Drs. Breyer and Bradshaw is lower than STS benchmark results.
*As defined by the STS database
